Bridge
Part of a series of work designed for a small holding just North of Hadrian's Wall, Northumbria. Set in beautiful and dramatic country it makes reference to the fortifications but also to that of connection and joining. 3.5 metres total length, cut from two slabs of Caithness stone ( siliceous siltstone ). It sits on four sandstone blocks, the five 'grips' are stainless steel and refer to drainage channels distinctive to the area.
This design is an evolving project and is being developed in various forms - interest in a variety of materials and applications and harmony within a particular environment being key.
