Et In Arcadia Ego

"The Haagse Stream rises in the dunes, and flows for several miles through the
city, before spilling its polluted waters into the formal Court Pool. Plans are in
progress to uncover, and purify, the source of the stream, which is presently buried
under a city rubbish dump. With the completion of the inscription, and the carefully
engineered raising of the outfall, we should then imagine that the waters are
addressing us: 'I, too was in Arcadia'."
